Favorite referencing style
APA is the referencing style I’m the most familiar with, but I’m excited to gain a deeper knowledge of referencing styles in general.
Why I became an editor
After a successful dance and performing arts career, I began to crave something new. I always loved languages and their technicalities, and that, coupled with a natural tendency to see mistakes in writing and feel the urgent need to correct them, led me on the exciting journey to becoming an editor/proofreader.
Background and experience
As a British expat living in Mexico, I have had the opportunity to teach English as a second language and have enjoyed working on translations from Spanish to English.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love the feeling of seeing a new piece of writing and being able to use my skills to polish it up while at the same time being of help to someone else.
Favorite book:
I like the classics and am especially fond of anything by the Brontë sisters and Jane Austen.
Hobbies:
I love to dance, chat with my daughter, go for walks with my family, or just curl up and watch a good movie with my husband.
Editing tips:
I like to print out a document, and after reading it through, mark it up on paper first. Then I go through it again for every point on my checklist.
