Favorite referencing style
My favorite referencing style is Chicago Manual because I love footnotes.
Why I became an editor
While I was in college, I was offered a job as a writing tutor. I have always enjoyed the writing process and found immense joy in helping writers through the process. This enjoyment of the writing process, coupled with a love of reading, has inspired me to embark on a career in editing and proofreading. I have recently decided to complete my master's degree in library information and science, and editing and proofreading will be a valuable skill set during this process.
Background and experience
I was an academic writing tutor for nearly three years while completing my bachelor's degree, and I have proofread work for various colleagues.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I find enjoyment in helping others perfect their work. I really love editing and proofreading anything related to anthropology, archeology, history, and folklore, especially if it involves the paranormal and supernatural. I am experienced with the APA, Chicago Manual, and MLA referencing styles from my years as a writing tutor.
Favorite book:
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll.
Hobbies:
Among my favorite things are reading (obviously, I'm making a career of it), playing board and card games with family and friends, solving jigsaw puzzles, and walking and hiking with my boxer Gigi.
Editing tips:
I like to read through a document once or twice before I start to proofread. It helps me get an idea of the author's style, and I want to help ensure the integrity of the author's voice.
