My favorite referencing style is APA.
Why I became an editor
I have worked in the childcare field for most of my career. Once I left university, I worked as a Montessori teacher. After doing that for several years, I worked as an assistant secretary in a school. I have always loved reading, and I get a little twitch in my eye when I read an article and spot an error. These things, as well as my yearning to learn something new every day, are some of the reasons I am interested in proofreading.
Background and experience
My background is in education and childcare.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I like that the possibilities with proofreading are endless, whether it be an academic document or a creative piece of writing. All written work is valuable and deserves to be effective and appreciated. My goal is to help writers get their message across so that readers can focus on the content and not the errors.
Favorite book:
I don't have a favorite book, but my favorite author is Maeve Binchy. I own most of her books and have re-read most of them.
Hobbies:
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, working out, and painting (although I'm not particularly good at it). I also enjoy settling down in the evenings with Netflix or Prime.
Editing tips:
I like to print out the document and read it through for obvious errors. I also like to separate the sentences and read them independently from the rest of the paper.
