Favorite referencing style
APA is my favorite style. It was the first one I learned, and I always found it intuitive without being too cluttered. I also like IEEE for its simplicity and the logical relations between citations and the reference list.
Why I became an editor
I have gravitated toward writing and languages since I was little. As I started reading more, my fascination with authors who could write in a precise and aesthetically pleasing way grew. I began to obsess over my own delivery, which made me a slow writer (and speaker), but it also made me think about which words I choose and how I combine them. Proofreading represents the perfect marriage of my pedantic tendency and service to others. If I'm doing it anyway, why not do it professionally?
Background and experience
I have experience with proofreading, editing, and translating economics-related documents for a teacher at a university. I have also edited a 30-page sociological essay for a student of the same university.
Why I love proofreading and editing
Going line by line and fixing errors one by one is a special kind of reward to me. The tangible sense of progress it provides and the feeling of building something better are paramount to keeping me engaged in what I do. And if I can read something interesting while doing it, all the better.

J.W. Goethe by Faust is my favorite book.

Editing tips:
I take my time with each sentence to assess how it relates to the rest of the text and understand if it could be written better. This helps me ensure that the continuity of the thought is clear.
