Favorite referencing style
APA is my favorite referencing style because it's the simplest.
Why I became an editor
I have a great love of the English language, which has served me well as both an ESL teacher and tutor at separate colleges. I believe my natural inclination toward English and humanities in general will continue to serve me well in proofreading.
Background and experience
I worked as an ESL and college English tutor from 2015–2022 and an ESL level 3 teacher from 2018–2020.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I enjoy the process of reading and understanding my client's message and helping them to express it more clearly and eloquently. I love reading (and would love to edit) student psychology, psychology in general, fictional English, English literature and poetry, philosophy, fictional stories of various genres, and nonfiction.
Favorite book:
Melmoth the Wanderer by Charles Maturin is my favorite book.
Hobbies:
When not proofreading, I enjoy lifting weights, training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and listening to different types of experimental music.
Editing tips:
The first time I read a document, I always do it out loud. In future passes, I continue to read out loud but will sometimes start at the end of the document and work backward.
