Favorite referencing style
I like APA referencing style the best because of its simplicity.
Why I became an editor
I have spent much of my life playing and teaching music, but my favorite activities have always been reading and writing. Writing well not only enables us to communicate with others, but in the process, it also helps us to clarify our own thoughts. Becoming a proofreader has allowed me to combine my love of language with teaching.
Background and experience
I have edited many college applications and questionnaires, including for medical schools. I also write and edit performer biographies and concert programs.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love helping someone’s thoughts to become crystal clear on paper. Helping writers put the finishing touches on a project is very gratifying. And I enjoy learning new things while I proofread.
Favorite book:
Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout is one of my favorite books.
Hobbies:
Besides proofreading, I like reading, listening to music, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
Editing tips:
I like to read through the document several times before I start proofreading. This helps me get a grasp of the subject matter and the author’s style and tone.
