Favorite referencing style
My favorite referencing style is APA because I have the most experience with it.
Why I became an editor
I have a passion for lifelong learning as well as grammar and punctuation. Proofreading and editing allow me to enjoy both while helping others improve their writing, which can only be effective if it is clear and accurate. My attention to detail helps writers to convey their intended message. I have always proofread for fun, but now I have the opportunity to proofread and edit as a career.
Background and experience
After graduating from college, I completed a dietetic internship to become a registered dietitian working in acute and long-term care, dialysis, and medical sales. For the past 17 years, I have been a stay-at-home mom while working part-time and volunteering in different roles.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love the satisfaction of helping people express their ideas more clearly. Proofreading and editing also allow me to explore and learn about a variety of topics.
Favorite book:
“To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I love traveling, camping, and couponing.
Editing tips:
I like to read each sentence of a document out loud to notice mistakes and areas that need clarification.
