Favorite referencing style
APA is my favorite referencing style because it's widely used in the subject matter I am interested in, and I have experience using it when writing my own papers in college.
Why I became an editor
In college, I was enthralled with writing essays and research papers, using grammar, and editing. I received many compliments from professors, who described my writing as "poetic" and "having its own style."
My employment history includes writing home studies, family assessments, and court reports that received commendations from my supervisors. I also assisted coworkers with writing and editing tasks.
I thoroughly enjoy writing, editing, and assisting others with their writing and editing needs.
Background and experience
While employed as a social caseworker for the Department of Social Services, I wrote, self-edited, and proofread countless family assessments, mental health assessments, home studies, and court-ordered investigations. I also assisted coworkers with their writing and editing needs.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I have a great appreciation for reading and writing, and I am a word lover. I enjoy helping others express themselves through writing with accuracy and dynamism.
I enjoy and am experienced in proofreading and editing anything related to mental health, psychology, addictions, and law/criminal justice.
I am also an avid exerciser and have done comprehensive research in exercise science and nutrition.
Additionally, I am a drawing and painting student and am passionate about anything art related.
Favorite book:
Sons and Lovers by D. H. Lawrence.
Hobbies:
I enjoy hiking, yoga, going to museums, and doing anything art related. Additionally, I am a music enthusiast and love to go to live music events.
Editing tips:
I like to read through the document first and break it down into sections. Then I read through it several times to make final adjustments and ensure I have preserved the author's tone and originality.
