Favorite referencing style
I prefer the parenthetical referencing styles because I like the author's name/s to be adjacent to their ideas. APA was the first referencing style I learned at university.
Why I became an editor
I studied biological science at university, which included subjects such as zoology, botany, and geography. There, my love for research and writing was born! I am experienced in technical writing and compliance. I enjoy writing short fiction and website copy. My favorite pastime has always been reading—anything from Tolstoy to Poe to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I became an editor so that I could read for a living and help others improve their writing.
Background and experience
My work experience spans science, project management, viticulture, product development, and the travel and hospitality industries. Recently, my focus has been on writing copy for websites.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love to read, I love to write, and I love to help.
Favorite book:
Family Happiness by Leo Tolstoy.
Hobbies:
I enjoy running, listening to music, reading, and generally hanging out with my family.
Editing tips:
I begin by reading the document all the way through. This initial review gives me a feel for the flow and structure and helps me get to know the author.
