Why I became an editor
I studied accounting and finance at university, which involved subjects like accounting, business and economics. While I was doing my dissertation, I realised I enjoyed researching and editing to produce well-written work.
So I took up proofreading, as it allowed me to continue reading, editing and helping others to improve their work.
Background and experience
I have trained at Knowadays and became a certified proofreader after passing their tests with distinction.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love the process of making a piece of writing read smoothly and without errors. I enjoy proofreading anything on business, technology, entrepreneurship and finance. I have a lot of experience with Harvard referencing, having used it for my dissertation, and I'm also experienced in APA, Chicago and MLA.
Favorite book:
‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ by J.K. Rowling.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I'm probably watching Netflix, playing sports or planning my next holiday.
Editing tips:
When proofreading, I first select the whole document and change the proofing language. I also keep a list of reminders, such as removing double spaces and using the correct quotation marks.
