I like them all.
Why I became an editor
I studied English at university, satisfying a lifelong love of reading. Over the past two decades, I have worked in-house as a proofreader and editor, working on web content and business reports for charitable institutions in England.
Background and experience
I have worked for UK charities writing and editing for websites and social media, including a voluntary role as a blogger for the RSPB.
I have completed training in digital marketing, Adobe InDesign, and bid writing.
In my most recent role, I was responsible for proofreading reports and funding bids.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I enjoy ensuring that writing reads well, that punctuation is correct, and that the text expresses the writer's intentions.
Favorite book:
The Genius of Birds by Jennifer Ackerman.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I like reading, walking, and watching the birds.
Editing tips:
I like to read through a document to get a sense of the work, style, and input needed. Taking time at the start of a task to ensure I know what is required can avoid problems later on.
