Why I became an editor
I love how thoughts. feelings, and ideas can be conveyed through written words when they are clear and accurate.
I have been a teacher for many years, and proofreading helps me to improve my skills and help others, too.
Background and experience
After leaving school, I worked for two different chartered accountancy firms, which gave me a good knowledge of corporate procedure and professionalism. Since then, I have worked for large and small businesses and even run my own company.
I have been a volunteer teacher for many years and started teaching English online in 2018.
Throughout my career I have always been interested in proofreading and this led to proofreading industry publications and websites for the companies I have worked for.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love removing distractions and increasing clarity. I always find that when a piece of writing is clear and accurate, the reader can concentrate on the main idea.
Favorite book:
The Partner by John Grisham. I love legal drama, and I especially like how the author unravels the intricate plot. It was the first novel I remember reading and I still love it!
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I like to spend time enjoying the outdoors. I have travelled extensively in South America and travelled and lived in Asia as I love to soak up new languages and cultures.

I like to have a comfortable, organised, and quiet workspace for proofreading. This allows me to concentrate fully on my work.
