Favorite referencing style
My favourite referencing styles are APA and MLA because I became adept at using both over my university career.
Why I became an editor
I am equal parts strategic and creative with an exceptional ability to flawlessly execute. I am passionate about communicating through a variety of mediums, including essays, reports, training resources, operations manuals, presentations, and marketing materials. Polishing writing to enhance communication and ensure a seamless flow is something I find extremely gratifying.
Background and experience
I have over eight years of experience in business communications and marketing roles. I am well versed in launching and conducting marketing activities, especially in the context of events, including email marketing, incentives, advertising, and social media. In previous roles, I developed event and sales materials on a weekly basis, including promotional materials, brochures, infographics, print ads, and digital displays.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I believe a person's writing ability should not limit their self-expression. I enjoy helping people convey their ideas clearly and concisely. I am a perfectionist with excellent attention to detail; therefore, I enjoy step-by-step, methodical tasks and perfecting one sentence after another.
Favorite book:
As a lover of dystopian and utopian fiction, my favourite book is Island by Aldous Huxley.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I enjoy seeking out sublime natural beauty, event planning, and teaching my cat tricks.
Editing tips:
I always read each page twice; first for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors and second for clarity, consistency, and tone.
