Favorite referencing style
APA style is my favorite, only because I am most accustomed to using it.
Why I became an editor
I studied professional and creative writing in school and took many courses in different styles of writing: journalism, fiction, poetry, screenwriting, etc. I have also participated in several writing workshops and won awards for my work.
Writing has been a passion of mine from a very young age, and I quickly found that spotting errors had become second nature for me. Becoming an editor was an easy choice since it combined my passion for writing with my natural talent for proofreading.
Background and experience
My previous jobs were in the service and shipping industries.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I have always found proofreading enjoyable and satisfying. Being a writer myself, I have come to appreciate that last phase of the editing process where everything falls into place. I am happy to be able to help others perfect their writing so that they can put their best foot forward.
Favorite book:
“The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle.
Hobbies:
I love reading, watching TV, hiking, and traveling in my self-converted camper van!
Editing tips:
When I think I'm nearly done proofreading a document, I make sure to read it aloud, going slowly through each line. This will usually help me catch all of those subtle errors I could not get before.
