Favorite referencing style
APA is my favorite because it's clear and makes the most sense to me.
Why I became an editor
First and foremost, I just love reading. I'd read all day, every day if I could! After finishing university, I decided to try teaching English to speakers of other languages, and I found that I loved it. I especially enjoy helping my students to improve their essay writing skills and their ability to communicate clearly in writing. So, for me, being an editor is great because I get to combine reading and helping students develop their skills.
Background and experience
I have been an English teacher since 2006. I have taught students of all ages and levels, from primary school children to adults, and from beginners to advanced students. In addition to general English classes, I have also taught exam preparation and academic English courses, which included a significant focus on editing students' essays and giving them detailed feedback on their writing.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love writing that is clear, concise, and correct. If your writing is all three of these things, then you can be sure that you will communicate your ideas effortlessly. I especially enjoy proofreading and editing anything related to the cognitive and behavioural sciences, and the intersection of these subjects with philosophy. I specialise in APA style referencing.
Favorite book:
Stories of Your Life and Others by Ted Chiang
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, you can usually find me in the gym, either working on my strength and conditioning, or doing yoga (but not very well)!
Editing tips:
First, read the document quickly to understand the overall purpose and style. Then, focus on each paragraph and line. Next, go through the document again, this time reading in reverse.
