Favorite referencing style
MLA is my favorite because it's the style I have the most experience with. APA is a close second.
Why I became an editor
Throughout my education experience, I often helped friends and classmates check over their work and found myself enjoying the experience. This became more formal when I worked as a tutor in college. I have always had a love for writing, and I also have a love for helping others, so proofreading is a great combination of those two aspects of my personality.
Background and experience
Most of my experiences has been based in the academic world. I worked as a tutor while at FIT and would often help students check over their writing assignments and slide presentations. I have also done some proofreading for students outside of my tutoring job, which started early in my education. This included checking over my friends' work before due dates and participating in partner editing during some of my English classes.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love being able to help others present their thoughts and ideas in the best way possible. I especially enjoy proofreading documents related to advertising and marketing, as that is what I studied in college. I have experience working with APA and MLA.
Favorite book:
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is my favorite book.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I enjoy discovering new music, watching sports, and finding new books to read.
Editing tips:
I always go through a document one final time, even if I'm sure I didn't miss anything. Reading aloud is also something I find helpful when looking for small errors.
