Why I became an editor
I write and edit lesson plans, reports and associated educational documents in my role as a college administrator. Editing and proofreading has become a way of life for me!
Background and experience
My early background was in animal disciplines. I worked for many years in equestrian environments, and then for many more in veterinary science.
More recently, I have been involved in educational administration for a further and higher education college. My work is stimulating, and our students can be inspirational! Editing and proofreading are features of my working life, which I enjoy immensely.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I have enjoyed past roles involving editing in various forms, and I am looking forward to expanding my experience and knowledge.
Favorite book:
My favorite book of all time is Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. This book started me on the path of children's classics and led to a lifelong love of reading.
Hobbies:
You'll likely find me in the garden when I'm not proofreading or making the most of the outdoors with my dog. That's when I'm not reading a good book, of course!
Editing tips:
Before I begin to proofread, I like to scan through the document and try to put myself in the mindset of the writer.
