Why I became an editor
My university and MBA studies in business and management subjects, as well as my 14 years of experience working in the corporate world, enabled me to handle sales, marketing, and business-related documents with ease. My interest in proofreading stems from a desire to assist others with removing errors and transforming their writing.
Background and experience
I have informal proofreading experience from assisting people I know with their writing and as part of my work. I have many years of experience in the corporate world in sales, export, and customer support. I have extensive experience learning modern foreign languages (French, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Arabic, Welsh, Danish, and German), and I understand many of the difficulties of writing English from an ESL perspective.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love correcting and fine-tuning written English, and for many years I assisted ESL writers with getting their work ready for submission or publication. I have extensive experience with studying modern languages, which provides me with useful insights into the English language from an ESL perspective.

Editing tips:
I read the first paragraph, then skim read a couple of other paragraphs to get an idea of the writing style. First I provide mechanical editing, and then I correct less obvious errors.
